It’s Brake’s Road Safety Week – 19-26th November 2023
Motormax is proud to support Brake, the road safety charity.
Motormax has teamed up with the charity to support their work caring for bereaved and injured road crash victims and campaigning for safe roads for all. Motormax shares Brake’s vision of a world where no one is hurt or killed on roads, and every road victim receives the care they need.
Brake campaigns for safe roads for everyone, calling on the Government to achieve solutions, in line with the Safe System approach to road safety. Brake’s National Road Victim Service helps more than 1,000 families every year by providing emotional and practical support for victims of road death or serious injury.
19-26th November is Road Safety Week
Road Safety Week is Brake’s biggest road safety campaign. Every year, thousands of schools, organisations and communities get involved to share important road safety messages, remember people affected by road death and injury, and raise funds to help Brake care for more road victims and campaign for safe roads for everyone.

10% increase in road deaths: the latest statistics on road death and injury revealed

“Earlier this month the Government released its latest figures on road crashes, revealing that 1,711 people died on British roads in 2022, a rise of 10% from 2021. A further 28,031 people suffered serious injuries.
As deaths on our roads reach close to pre-pandemic levels, we’re once again calling for a concerted focus on reducing road deaths and catastrophic injuries. The numbers show 303 people died due to vehicles travelling above the speed limit, up 20% on the year before. A further 28,031 people suffered serious injuries.
Brake’s National Road Victim Service saw a 30% increase in referrals last year, mirroring the trend of these DfT statistics. Our Interim CEO, Ross Moorlock, says: “It’s completely unacceptable that, each day, people’s lives are cut short or changed forever as a result of preventable road crashes.
