M Group win multiple awards for excellence in fleet safety

Motormax customer M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions (MGSPFS) has won a prestigious award for Excellence in Fleet Safety and Compliance. This year’s Fleet News Awards took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. The prestigious awards recognise excellence and outstanding achievement across the industry. The business was also highly commended in 2022 in the UK Fleet Champion Awards, both awards honoring a collaboration between MGSPFS, Motormax and telematics provider, Samsara.
M Group explains, “This award demonstrates our commitment to putting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people and the public first, as well as reducing our impact on the environment. We are using telematics data and reporting to better understand any road incident that’s occurred and support our people with information, education and training to reduce the risks to them and other road users in future.” Read more from M Group.
Antony Draper, Head of SHEQ at MGSPFS commented, “Well done Samsara and Motormax, a great product and one we are pleased to have as standard on our HGV fleet. Winner of Fleet News Excellence in Fleet Safety & Compliance and highly commended at UK Fleet Champions Awards. Thanks for your partnership”.
Antony explains how the Motormax/Samsara single platform solution is ‘game changing’.
“As a result of the combined Samsara and Motormax technology, the data we can obtain is game changing. This information provides us with actionable insights so we can make informed decisions and offer more extensive training to our people.”
Anthony continues, “The system can detect a multitude of issues such as the vehicle being overweight, ancillary equipment not being stowed correctly and if the stabilising legs are not retracted fully. If there are issues like this, the driver is immediately notified through a visual and spoken voice warning. Transport controllers are also made aware through email notifications. We benefit from Samsara’s system notifying us when a driver is distracted or if an incident has occurred. This immediacy of knowledge means we can contact our driver and review the 360o footage available to have a comprehensive understanding of what has happened. The system provides us with almost immediate knowledge and the ability to reduce the chances of incidents happening again.”
