“We’ve come to rely on cameras more and more.” Stephanie Price, JPE Aggregates

Motormax is working with JPE Aggregates, one of the Midlands leading suppliers of aggregates, sand and soils to the construction industry. Motormax installed a range of pioneering technology to their fleet of tippers to assist drivers and improve safety.

Safety equipment installed onto the fleet includes 8 Channel Live DVR, 6- Forward Facing Camera, Side View Camera, Left Turn Alarm, Parking Sensors.

Stephanie Price – JPE Aggregates Managing Director explains, “All vehicles are fitted with six cameras supplied by our partners, Motormax, which includes one on the driver. If there is an incident, we can look at the footage and we can see that the driver was driving correctly, wasn’t on a mobile phone, was wearing a seat belt etc. Nine times out of ten, the driver is not at fault but we’ve come to rely on cameras more and more.”

Lindsay Smith, JPE Aggregates Compliance Manager added, “The installation of Motormax safety systems means we can protect our drivers and reduce insurance claims. If an incident should occur, we can instantly review the footage from a six-channel live DVR, which includes a forward facing camera, a drivr camera, rear and side cameras. Using this camera technology we can check if the seat belt was engaged, the driver wasn’t smoking or distracted etc., and we can quickly determine any liability. The 360° camera system means our insurers have the evidence required to prove our driver wasn’t at fault. Motormax systems assist us to ensure our fleet is fully compliant and we have the relevant compliance accreditation to win more work”.

JPE has developed its business of supplying aggregates, groundworks and site clearance over a period of more than 20 years. The company has been involved in many of the leading projects in the Midlands area, including the Black Country Route, Trent Valley Four Tracking Project (TV4), the M6 Toll Road and the M6 hard shoulder strengthening.
