Road Safety Week 2022 – Incident Prevention Technology by Motormax

Brake’s Road Safety Week runs from 14-20 November 2022 – a week where thousands of organisations and communities across the country come to together to campaign for #saferoadsforall. Motormax actively support Brake – the road safety charity’s efforts to raise awareness and improve the safety of our roads.

Incident prevention

A significant proportion of fleet safety technology focuses reporting after an event. Safetymax is a pioneering solution designed exclusively by Motormax for incident prevention – to create a safer environment for drivers and vulnerable road users.

Safetymax creates critical and potentially life-saving audible and visual alerts which are communicated clearly to drivers with timely warnings for them to act. Safetymax combines camera, viewing, warnings and parking sensor technology to give drivers enhanced visibility whilst manoeuvring a vehicle at low speeds.

Safetymax features 

• 360-Degree Detection System – uses up to 16 ultrasonic sensors to provide drivers with a clear indication of obstacles around the vehicle. The visual display uses a traffic light system at fixed points around the vehicle indicating safe distances whilst manoeuvring.
• Warnings – ensure driver attention is captured by using specific warnings – programme up to nine tailored alert images and voice prompts. i.e., side door open, fridge door open.
• Integration – Safetymax integrates with cameras and vehicle CCTV to provide a single solution. Data from Safetymax can be recorded to the DVR allowing fleet operators to track, monitor and analyse fleets. Operators use data to increase fleet efficiency, create driver profiles and as a training tool.

• Reduce cost – with a lower incident frequency rate, risk is reduced which should positively impact insurance premiums and repair costs.
• Operator reporting – Safetymax can be integrated with Live DVR and telematics. This can enable fleet operators to manage and analyse via a single, easy-to-use platform.
• Improve efficiency – When paired with a live CCTV system, data from Safetymax can be reported directly to the fleet operator which can be used for driver training and monitoring.
• Ongoing training and education – data captured can be used internally as a training tool to improve driver behaviour.
• Adaptable – different industries require different vehicle types, each bringing their own potential hazards. Safetymax can be tailored to suit, e.g. spoken voice warnings and imagery on in-cab monitors and integrated into factory screens.
