telematics

Motormax joined telematics provider, Samsara at their Community Dinner held at WTW’s fantastic central London office (pictured above). Our telematics partner bought together our close community, including our mutual customers M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions and Brakes UK.

Motormax Co Founders Jonathan Haycock and James Haycock attended the event which saw presentations from Paul Duncalf from Brakes UK, and Antony Draper from M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions.

Fleet safety and telematics partnership

Jonathan Haycock, Motormax Co-Founder and Director commented, “It is a pleasure to work in partnership with our telematics partner, Samsara. So far we have worked together on multiple projects including M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions, and Brakes UK.  Through our collaboration we bring a unique, single platform solution to our industry, specifically designed to prevent incidents and give operators the tools required to run a safer, more efficient fleet. This is just the beginning of our ongoing partnership and we look forward to transforming the safety of many more of the UK’s largest fleets”.

Jonathan Ramsey, Samsara Product Marketing Manager commented, “We love hearing how our customers are empowered to improve their safety, focussed on great outcomes for drivers, and also leveraging the Samsara platform to achieve their sustainability goals. Also, our partner for 360° vision, and all things DVS and FORS, Motormax, showing the power of integration.”

M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions

A cutting-edge system that gives immediate visibility in and around MGSPFS vehicles, has been created. This industry-first collaboration with Motormax and Samsara detects risks and alerts drivers and managers to protect M Group Services’ people and the public from harm. Motormax technology is fully integrated with the Samsara cloud-based platform delivering a comprehensive, single solution.

Tony Draper, Head of SHEQ at M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions commented, “As a result of the combined Samsara and Motormax technology, the data we can obtain is game changing. This information provides us with actionable insights so we can make informed decisions and offer more extensive training to our people.”

Tony continues, “The system can detect a multitude of issues such as the vehicle being overweight, ancillary equipment not being stowed correctly and if the stabilising legs are not retracted fully. If there are issues like this, the driver is immediately notified through a visual and spoken voice warning. Transport controllers are also made aware through email notifications. We benefit from Samsara’s system notifying us when a driver is distracted or if an incident has occurred. This immediacy of knowledge means we can contact our driver and review the 360o footage available to have a comprehensive understanding of what has happened. The system provides us with almost immediate knowledge and the ability to reduce the chances of incidents happening again.” Read more.
